September 2006 Tournament Results
We had fabulous conditions for the September competition. This helped lead to nine of twelve competitors scoring a 2006 Mission Bay tournament best. Numerous gritty performances were possible in the excellent weather in the prime of the ski season. Props go out to Connor Torre from boat launch through boat cleaning with extensive buoy pulling in between. Ben Harwood filled in as tournament director flawlessly and posted an impressive score to boot. For those of you who failed to get on to Fiesta Island before the bike race, set your alarm twenty minutes earlier in the future to arrive early and help setup the dock, boat, course and accessories. Weather: Cooler morning conditions (57 when we picked up the boat) did not affect the Mission Bay faithful. But both the temperature and the tide rose quickly through the morning. We finished round two with the mercury approaching 73 degrees and championship slalom conditions (the final competitor of the day is atop today's scoreboard).
Water temperature: 70-71 degrees
Air temperature: 65-73 degrees
