The 2007 Western Regionals was held at Imperial Lakes July 25-28, just 100 miles East of our salty little site. Congratulations to a hobbled Geoff Schmid who took third place in Mens 3 slalom with 4@38' off. Former club member Mike Saunders finished fifth with 3@38' off. Eric Dahlgren & Ben Harwood finished sixth and seventh respectively in Mens 2 slalom. Kay Goodfellow earned a medal in Womens 5 slalom with a fifth place finish.

Former UCSD skier Alan Podawiltz brought home two medals with a fifth place finish in Mens 1 trick and also fifth place in Mens 1 overall, earning a spot at Nationals the hard way. SDSU alumni Chris Clark finished fifth in Mens 1 jump and seventh in the overall; Jeff Rush finished eighth in trick and in 12th place in jump.

Connie Morris medaled in slalom, trick, jump and the overall in Womens 3. Husband Pat took home some hardware in both jump and overall in Mens 4. Daughter Jay was on the podium for trick, jump and overall in Girls 2 and son Robert was honored in the Boys 3 division in trick, jump and overall. San Diegans Eric Lee and Kirk Lee also collected hardware, Eric taking second place in Mens 4 trick while Kirk took second in Boys 2 trick, fourth in Boys 2 jump and third in the overall. Congratulations to all who qualified and participated!

We installed the Bill Helliwell designed self-adjusting buoy system on June 30, and the rave reviews are in. Why didn't we do this years and years ago?
